Remap

Featured Replies

Hi, I have recently had my 08 Octavia Vrs PD  mapped  to 212 bhp 420 nm but am very disappointed with the performance compared to my old Octavia, a 130 mapped to 170 which did push you back in the seat even in top gear, now the Vrs is  pretty fast in third but after that I think my old car would beat it . The man that mapped it is blaming everything from it being a 16 valve engine to the DPF. So could somebody that has had their Vrs mapped tell me what the acceleration is like and whether there is any throw you back in the seat performance in the higher gears?

Your best bet is to find a local member who has also had a remap and go along for a ride to see if it feels the same ;)
You have to also remember that acceleration will get slower the faster youre going, so it wont push you back so much in 3rd as say 1st or 2nd.

Where was the map done from

Durham remaps

Get him to take it off and get your money back, I recently had my petrol vrs remap done and it absolutely fly's in all gears, so much more power and still drives nice and smooth too, I had it done at Ross road garage in stockton so its not too far from Durham, I have heard big fish tuning in Stokesley is also very good.

Cant see him being happy with that, but I will try.

Ross road give me 30 days to decide if I wanted to keep the remap with a full refund if I wanted it removed, I will deffo be keeping it :)

I have had my petrol (TSi) remapped last week and like dazz it is an absolute monster now.

My octy vrs diesel is remapped and also has 212bhp. Can honestly say it does throw ya back in your seat when givin it the beans. Its a cr though and yours in a pd. Pd engines are known for giving you that sensation more then the cr. Stick a few tanks of v power in to clean everythin out

Your MAF could be knackered, they drive like carp when they go.

Think the MAF is ok but air intake temp sensor is reading about double ambient when driving, most online searches say it should be ambient or lower but Skoda garage says not, so unsure at this point.

The Air intake sensor giving a reading twice than what it should be will have an affect on things because if it's higher it will ask for slightly less fuel than it should so therefore reducing power slightly.

Sort that out first then go from there. Mine is an 08 vRS PD and it pulls like a train even in 4th and 5th not as much as lower gears but you can still feel it and mine is only 200BHP if I'm lucky :-)
