highest mileage Toledo/Rapid 1.6tdi ?

Featured Replies

Anyone got any high mileage ones?

Had any major problems yet?

Just trying to gage what big problems lie ahead :-)

I know have 3 1.6tdi Toledos,

The first one is just over a year old basic model with 54k miles, I've had water pump replaced and also egr replaced under warranty so far.

The second one is the Se model just over 6 months old with all the goodies, it has done 30k miles with nothing done yet.

The third is only 12 hours old, lol . It is the new itec model, with the horrible looking dull alloys, and the pitiful alecantra interior. If I had seen the itec before,I would not have bought it, I WOULD have bought another se instead.

Thanks

I agree about the alloys but the itech interiors smart - better than the black / grey SE - looks so cheap like its out of a 70's hyundai - yuk

Guy on here called TaxiG may know of hi miles issues - try a PM

Yes, taxis. Well the first 2 are, the wife wanted a new car, so I bought her the itec, so in a few years time, I'll use as a taxi. She doesn't know this yet though :-)

I'll also try and pm camelspyder.

Thanks

Why didn't you view the iTec before you bought it?

Shame your view on the itech isn't positive. I looked at one a couple of weekends ago and came away with the conclusion that the alcantara interior made a massive difference to the cabin ambience. So much so that I enquired about speccing one up and found... That you couldn't! Alloys I have to agree, were weak.

Didn't have time to view the itec, and to be honest, I got told better alloys, not by a mile, better interior, which it is, but not really taxi interior. Oh,I forgot the itec badges lol

Only thing that worries me, I'd the egr valve going after warranty. Supposedly crazy money for labour due to position of the egr.

EGR is a weak spot on the 1.6. Other models are suffering the same. Would of thought VW should've sorted it by now [emoji57]

Would be nice to know how the Rapid diesels get on [emoji106]

Well, the itec has done 200 miles, and a few problems so far,

Both front headlights have condensation in them.

The clutch pedal is squeaking every time you press it.

There seems alot of feedback from the brake pedal,. If you slightly rest your foot on it, you can feel a few rumblings. Sort of like, the faint abs feeling, if you know what I mean lol

Just been discussing the weird brake pedal sensation in the clutch thread; a few of us seem to have this :wonder:

Intend to raise it on the first service but don't expect they will come back with anything other than NFF.
