Philips Colorvision Headlamp Bulbs

Featured Replies

After buying a pair of Osram Fogbreakers I decided to invest in some Philips Colorvision bulbs for the headlamps. They're fab! They add a yellow tinge to the beam, but you still get a broadly white beam. Face on you see the yellow in the reflectors. They look really nice on a white car. There are available in other colours too. The beam actually seems better than the Osram Nightbreakers I was using before - not as starkly blue, much more relaxing. They cost around £23 on Amazon.

Nice to see someone going for the retro yellow look, rather than the 'blue' or as close to white look as possible. Yellow is great in fog. I'm tinting my fog lights yellow soon, although that won't make much of a difference, I should really chance the bulb. But after hearing about several Citigo-ers nearly losing their right arm attempting this, I think I'll pass just now :P ...

Don't be a righty, there are left handers too who have lost arms (I.e me) ;)

What was worse, the grill or fogs? ;)

Hmm tough choice but I'd say the fog light bulbs. Still both nice arm grazes [emoji57]

Lol! Yes, caused me to use several expletives changing the fog light bulbs! Don't think they could have made it more difficult if they'd tried! My wrists looked like I had been self-harming by the time I'd finished. The driver's side was even more difficult as there was no way I could persuade the centre rivet to come out of the bottom fixing of the arch liner. Had to squeeze my arm into quite a narrow gap which felt like it had several sharp projections inside. Did it in the end though and am well pleased with the result. My wrist has healed now. My new yellow headlamps and the Fogreakers look really nice on together. Like I said, really good on a white Citigo.

Why doesn't Osram sell the Fogbreakers in the UK? Had to get mine on eBay from Hong Kong.

I have driven quite a bit at night now with the Colorvison headlamps. The beam is a bit yellower than I fist thought - you really notice it when it reflects off roadsigns. The colour is most relaxing and the intense blue headlamps of approaching cars look cold and harsh in comparison. Can't wait for some fog now so I can try out the Fogbreakers!
