replacing bushes in the new year

Featured Replies

As i do alot of commuting to and from work im thinking of upgrading the bushes all round.

My local garage has told me its best to upgrade them as they will last twice as many years as standard?

If this the case can any of you recommend some names and what i expect to pay

My ride is fabia 1.9tdi 100 hp 2004

Thanks

Merry christmas☺

Depneds whether you want poly or rubber ones. Meyle ones are good if you want the rubber type.

Poly ones tend to give more noise/harshness.

The poly ones are the upgrade type arent they? My mechanic said the ones out of seat cupra or audi are stronger last longer??.

Ive never had to do bushes so not sure.just want something to last and dont mind paying extra

Poly ones are more durable and offer tighter control but I didn't like them when I fitted them to my consoles as they caused some harshness, so I fitted some Meyle HD ones instead. It's all down to personal taste I suppose. Powerflex are a good brand for poly ones though.

I had mine ( rear front) changed due to MOT fail one side and advisory other. SIL did them for me ,as I can't get down any more. Biggest problem he had was refitting the rear carrier, but there's a few threads on here about changing bushes. From his problems, I'd suggest the strap idea for pulling the carrier in .

http://www.powerflex.co.uk/road-series/products/Fabia+%282000-2007%29-230/1.html gives list of all bushes for car. But the pricing structure is deceptive. e.g - rear front- price is per bush (=side), so a box containing parts for a car is two bushes @£32.94 = £65.88.

TBH- I've not noticed any problems on mine ,but my engine is a smaller version of yours .
