New exhaust time

Featured Replies

Its blowing its the original exhaust that came on the car and its 05 plate so can't complain. Think I will treat her to a full stainless.

Any recommendations? any one have an aftermarket fitted can you post a pick of the tail pipe and how it sits in the bumper.

Primarily it needs to look similar to standard but better flow to free up a few horses. but not to unrestricted that its noisey.

Suggestions below please. Oh yeah its a mkii VRS petrol. 2.0 Tfsi

Go to your nearest Powerflow fitter.

They fit custom exhausts. Quiet or loud

OEM looking tail pipes or huge bore pipes.

Loads of options with Powerflow. Also very well priced.

I have a Milltek resonated turbo back exhaust. Nice and quiet driving along (sounds standard), until I open it up; sounds good on boost.

Had a power flow fitted previously at big city tyres in Nottingham to a golf cabriolet and they did a reasonable job but the selection of tail pipes was poor ended up with a compromise that I never ended up liking didn't suit the car and on the dyno it actually lost power after that was fitted. It sounded nice though. To me its more important that it matches the old one fairly closely and doesn't stick out too much. I'd like to see some pictures if anyone has any?

If it's something that looks standard but adds performance and a nice sound I'd recommend Jetex. I don't have one yet on my Octy as the original exhaust is still fine, but I've had them on 3 previous cars and the fit and quality is always excellent.

Bit disappointed with the feedback guys, 2 suggestions!  I was hoping for a few links to some websites to have a look.

Am I just being lazy should is start trawling the web?

Yes you do the research, then pass the info back here.

Since I have been running oilburners I have not had to replace an exhaust - that over 30 years and a few of them have run to over 200,000 miles.

Even on petrols, exhausts last much better than they used to.  Better materials, design and longer commutes help them get hotter to aid getting rid of the acidic junk which rots them.

They just last longer, so there is not the experience around to share.

Hi mate, I have a powerflow on my FL diesel, the only problems there can be with powerflow is not every dealer will be as good as others, the dealer I use are top notch so not had any issues.

Had plenty of choice on tips but I also went for the most OE looking, twin inward rolled and a slight angular cut, sits perfect in the bumper recess.

I had a Milltek full system on my 57 plate tfsi and it sounded spot on, not over the top on light throttle but give it some beans and it sounded awesome.
