what clutch?

Featured Replies

My 1.9tdi pd100 has the standard clutch atm

I shall soon be having the gearbox recon due to a few problems

Whilst that is out the mechanic will be checking if it needs new clutch

Thing is the car has been remapped to 144.. so the clutch will need to be upgraded

I just dont know what to go for? Ideas please

How many miles have you done on the standard clutch with it mapped if you've done a few miles and it's been fine a standard clutch will be fine to run with again just don't buy the cheapest one you can find like a valeo kit go for something better known like luk..... Also be worth asking your parts suppliers what options they have in stock as most places like pages and euro car parts do keep updated bits or can easily get hold of them x

Hi

Was either thinking luk. Sachs. Or black diamond

As they do 3 types of upgrade. ive done 6k since remap. Clutch feels fine but gbox has probs in 1st and bearing prob in 4th

Either of them will do I wouldn't go to upgraded tho like race style clutches because there's no round town driving with them as the clutch ends up like on or off switch so it's impossible to do stop start driving ..... I'm guessing you've had a oil leak on your box to cause problems like that or it's had a really really hard life

The car originally came from scotland owned by an old guy

You can tell too (scratches) but theres no oil leaks whatsoever.

I brought it from private sell in notts with only 96k. Has had 2 cambelt changes.second time cos the owner had forgotten to ask for waterpump change app

But she runs sweet. Now on 103k

Had gbox oil change 1k ago to see if cured the notchy 1st gearbut no luck. She doesnt burn or use oil or water.

When you enjoy your car and look after it.you care for it like a kid lol

Dont need a race clutch.but need something thats gona last 5 yrs or more

Im guessing your a vrs owner

I was gona buy 1 that had 145k 55plate. 180hp egr delete new dmf clutch kit

Lowered.but i just thought im not a boyracer anymore haha

She's been looked after then which is always good ..... Must just be a unlucky fault ... If your not racing around everywhere a oem clutch kit will be fine to use .... And yep iv a beloved vrs which I treat like a kid two im really pathetic with my cars with mechanical sympathy due to working on them day in day out ....

Would a vr6 clutch do you?, if it's an ATD lump it will probably be a single mass standard, I'm not 100% so someone will have to confirm that a vr6 plate and preasure plate should fit

Ha scrap that the vr6 golf gives the same torque and a pd100 anyway in standard form lol 240nm/177ft lbs

I dont have a clue about the torque figures etc and what fits what tbh.just know that remap ive got is a very friendly clutch map. But if the mechanic suggests to me he can find a clutchkit for right price il get it done.
