Vrs Brake Discs & Pads

Featured Replies

My brake pads need changing front and back and was wondering which ones to go for?. I don't do track days just spirited driving now and then but would like to know if any gains from oem pads and discs to others that are more expensive like grooved and drilled discs? If you can put part numbers for either or advice to buy from that would be great, Many thanks

I never bother with the fancy discs, but yellowstuff pads (from EBC) are a good fast road pad, legal for road use and bite when cold, but can still handle about 900c :) when I fitted these I still had issues with the pedal (at Blyton park, 3 stops from over 100mph per lap!) , and later got some ATE racing blue brake fluid in the system, and this cured my issues, brakes that work on the track now, using just standard discs :) , and work properly on the road too!

Cheers was looking in to the ebc, Do you use ebc yellowstuff for front and rear or just front? What make are the standard oem disc?

just the front, the rear does so little work..... I have worn out a set of front pads in one year (many tack days, and a trip to the ring) but the OE rears are still only about half worn at 35k :)

don't know what make the standard discs are but there are loads of cheap discs out there, the yellowstuff pads are about £68 ...

discs..

£38...
