Continuous beeping/bong noise every second when temperature below zero

Hi,

Please help diagnose this issue. 

The car is a 56 plate 1.6 16v Roomster^2. I've owned it since March 2014.

Recently the ambient temperature had dropped below 0^oC, When I am driving and the temperature drops below zero, I hear the beep/bong which is commonly heard a single time when the temperature drops below 4^oC. Unlike the 4^oC ice warning, this beeping is non stop, it repeats every second and only stops when the temperature goes to 0.0 ^oC or the car stops moving (speed of 5mph) seems to be a trigger. Strangely the snow flake icon is not displayed below zero but is displayed between zero and 4^oC. 

Any ideas how to stop this? I changed the battery a couple of months ago and wonder if something needs reset?
