So will the RS3 Saloon becoming to the UK, will it have a manual option and much improved handling characteristics?

I wonder if Autocar is correct about what they say in the article about not using the new revised 400hp version of the engine as found in the TT-RS.

Hopefully Audi will use the new engine so it improves the fuel economy compared with the current engine, which I can only get 21mpg.

Will it be a better all round package than a BMW M2 and more available? Less price inflated by speculators?

So has the Audi RS3 been a success or a failure for Audi UK /AUDI Europe.

How many have been sold in the UK against their original target?

Boost for sales in late 2017- Introducing the new RS 3 Saloon

Arriving in late 2017

Remember the Hyped videos prior to launch, so low key.

Non Audi marketing launch video below just the early review.

Looking at How Many Left website it shows that 1,329 have been registered of the new model.

Today Audi's used car search shows just 22 new models being sold with 17 being registered from March 2016.

So I'm guessing that most the demo models have been sold off by the dealers and these are just the remaining ones.

I wouldn't though that Audi would put an official number on how many they expect to sell but seeing that the used price are very high I guess they expect a demand for them on the even used market.

I still think its strange why they didn't wait for the new engine to be ready and only kept this model in production for only 1 year.

Sounds like some more healthy competition coming as well.

Shame no Golf R400 mk7.5 announcement.

It would be interesting to see what the performance difference is between the old engine and the new one seeing that people that dynoed the 362hp engine found it produced around 400hp.

I wonder if the power race is ending at 400hp for hatchbacks and they start concentrating on handling and "track times". Anything beyond 400hp power will be sold as a tuned version which is a limited run and very high prices as seen with the Evolution X FQ-440 MR.

I saw a Golf "R400" parked in Morrisons this week. It looked like they spent a bit of money on it making it look like a R400. But for the time being VW are not wanting to develop a high performance 2.0 turbo in this generation.

It might turn into hybrid to get extra performance while making them more environmentally friendly.

Facelifted RS3 @Geneva :Extra power but is there any improvement in handling?

Interesting commentS from Evo magazine, pertaining to the rivals to the facelifted RS3

However, no mention is made of the much hyped Ford Focus RS Mountune model in their conclusion?

Price and rivals

UK pricing is yet to be confirmed, but Audi estimates the Sportback will cost around £45,000 with the Saloon carrying a modest premium. The only other small four-door performance saloon is the £43,245 Mercedes-AMG CLA45, which is slightly down on power compared to the RS3 and not quite as engaging to drive. If you can do without the two rear doors, BMW’s £45,750 M2 is even more rewarding to drive quickly, although it’s certainly not without its dynamic flaws.

The RS3 Sportback faces varied and very talented competition in the heavily populated hot hatch sector. The 376bhp Mercedes-AMG A45, costing £40,695, gets closest in terms of power output but it can’t match the Audi for driving dynamics. The recently updated VW Golf R, meanwhile, costs around £13,000 less than the Audi and is perhaps even sweeter to drive, although it is down on power to the tune of 90bhp.
