Just getting to the point a VFM car new might not be desirable used at 3 years old, but then you can discount them and they will not sit around at a Main Dealers.

ie a BMW M135i

But with Halo models like a RS3 at under 6 months old that are not even flavour of the month, that is a bit more difficult to get away used at over £40,000 .

They were naff, and they will continue to be naff, hardly a car to aspire to, but that is just IMO.

That is definitely just your opinion! Maybe they aren't your cup of tea. Maybe they aren't worth £40k. Maybe they are no longer flavour of the month.

However, they are certainly not Naff!

I'm not one to spend hours of my time defending an inanimate object, as it's not worth it, and TBH I'm not bothered if other people like a certain car. I'm not a fanboy of any particular persuasion.

I do however like nice cars. Cars which push the boundaries, and cars which perform better than others. Thats my thing.

The RS3 is a nice car, that's my opinion. I find it difficult to see how it could be naff.

  • Well I've finally collected my RS3.   So I thought I would share my initial thoughts and photos:-           Two RSs together:-   The car is really easy to drive as I was so nervous d

  • Not sure an M2 is ideal for the commute.  Or loading the family in. Also the 1 series can't have adaptive cruise, so not sure about the 2. Wanted something a bit more sensible as I have a quick week

  • Nah, leave him be, the 7R forums will eat him alive, at least here we know where he is and it beats care in the community

Where they flavour of any month this Year?

Chavfastic then.

Where they flavour of any month this Year?

Chavfastic then.

I don't know,

Most hyper hatches are chavved up these days. Impossible to get one without 4 exhausts. at least the RS3 is limited to the traditional 2 ovals.

Anyway, shock horror, our opinions divide on a car. Next you'll be telling me you like a food I don't like........

You see you misread.

I like them very much, nothing wrong with naff or chavfastic,

but you and me liking them and not buying them will not help there status as liked but but not desirable as a used car.

Definitely too subtle for me.

Say what you mean, I'm a blunt tool :D

You have definitely slipped into a double negative entropy time loop I'm afraid

Simples.

Convince people they are a bad buy as a used  demonstrator. Better than 'drive the deal' drive down the residuals. (wishful think / dreaming)

But like the S1's not shifting the RS3's follow that tradition.

Audi manipulate the figures though.

Long threads on Briskoda on the likes of the RS3, are just like with the Golf R, not many actual takers.

We will see what it is like with he Focus RS, and how many purchase one.

?

any Briskoda members bought or ordered a Civic Type R yet?

I wouldn't have thought the RS3 was ever expected to sell in huge numbers? As I have said, if the car has been register by the dealer and it wouldn't surprise me if each dealership is expected to do at least one car at any time as a demo, then the manufacturer gives dealer support to help shift the car as a nearly new car in a few months time.

Car sales isn't the big conspiracy people think it is. I have no idea why it is thought of as that. I did a bit of time in the industry partly because I was curious about it and have not seen almost any of the practices that it is accused of. if people really imagine there is all this cloak and dagger, or smoke and mirrors, they should go get a job selling cars and see how it works from the inside. They will be disappointed.

Non as blind that those that can not see is often true. Sometimes it is amazing that people can work in an industry and never know what goes in. Ask any board member of the Volkswagen Group. Hear see and say no evil
Never heard such nonsense. Cheating Emissions testing
World wide. Eleven million vehicles
Impossible.

Maybe it is because I didn't work for  VAG company then

Keith, when you quote me it looks really odd. I see all sorts of large numbers as if I am looking at the code of the post or something technical ?? It looks very odd. Is it just me :D

It's wasn't edited by Keith and I haven't waved my wand over it yet either.

Edit. Now sorted for both Keith and Amanda.

Ah ha. Thank you. It now looks normal. I use the term 'normal' with some reservation when referring to Keith's and my own posts.

Unfortunately in a time of austerity Kieth may be finding in difficult to put hand in pocket. However, his dear friend KEITH may be able to help him out later once he has completed saving for his M2- April 2016.lol

Who's 'Keith that's saving for an M2'? I've lost the thread of this thread (and that's how the Emperors Clothes started, or something like that). Time for pot noodles and jelly snakes methinks. It should help

Keeth, anyone who can afford a Golf R can surely support his favourite car forum :)

Saving for an M2? Is this really happening or am I dreaming lol

Must admit I am more than a little confused. I think he is being sarcastic, or perhaps he's seen the light :D

Following on from that, maybe even all those with 135i's too? ;-)

As for sarcasm in this thread - surely that can't be true lol.
