Hi canbus works on 2 channels canbus high and canbus low. So one channel is not working for infotainment . 2 channels for reliability . Really would not worry about it.

No havn't fitted an aftermarket head unit. Its got the Bolero fitted which appears to work fine. I am second owner and did wonder if first owner maybe had a Bluetooth device for his phone. Maybe the fault is linked to something he had done.

There is a loose connection/near break in one of the CAN wires somewhere. It MAY have occurred where someone has fitted aftermarket ICE equipment as you suggest and the intermittent nature MAY imply one of the terminal pins isn't pushed in properly. If it were me I would probably look behind the stereo at the quadlock for an obvious issue like this, but otherwise not worry about it as suggested. It could be in one of a multitude of places to be honest

You would be looking for a twisted pair of purple/orange and brown/orange wires. See http://www.my-gti.com/991/performing-repairs-on-can-bus-wiring for more help on repairing a fault in CAN wiring.

  Hi

I've got the same code on a 1.6 diesel Octavia   (00469)  Did you find/fix your problem.  ?

As the second owner and the warranty is due to end soon is it worth bothering about,?

I decided to leave it in the end. I thought if I start pulling things out trying to locate the fault I may end up causing more. Not noticed and problems at all to be fair.

Thanks anyway I'll probably leave well alone.
