Just in need of advice guys

Will be replacing the aux belt on a 1.9tdi pd100 this weekend weather permitting

Ive already got the correct belt mine has a/c

Ive got all tools needed.

Just wondered who on here has tackled it from above.rather than the haynes way and remove wheel .liner. undertray

Thankfully i have thin enough arms lol

It is / will be possible to do from the top depending on where the tensioner sits it will just be a bit more of a struggle trying to get it sat round all the pulleys so The time you save by not takeing the archliner off you loose by struggling if there's not much room down there .... Should take about 20 mins or so there not a big job just take note of the belt route before you remove it

Sounds straight forward enough then.the only tricky bit i can see is making sure the spanner doesnt slip off when putting tension on to refit belt.

Yep that's the hardest bit make sure you don't put your fingers under the belt between a pulley because if it slips then you've just lost a finger lol .... Most tensoniers have a little hole in them at the side so you can release the tension and drop a pin in the hole to keep it locked the ... Makes it much safer and easier
