Turbo Kaput ?

Featured Replies

1.9 Tdi , when depressing the clutch there is a "scoosh" noise almost like a dump valve. Drives fine , no noise from turbo on acceleration. Until today ! Scooshing away then flat as , no boost almost like limp mode. Got home switched off, poked about the engine bay , no pipes off , sensor wiring etc ok , fired her up and sweet as but still the scoosh noise !! Is the turbo on the way out ? Not scanned it yet. Had a flat battery twice over hols but probably down to the fact the missus drives about 4 miles per week (battery is new). At that time there were no fault codes. Also no eml etc on dash today. Any ideas ?

Split hose. Intercooler holed. Etc. may not be obvious until theres a bit of pressure built up.

Normally bottom pipe that goes into the turbo on these.

Sounds like mine. Is the scoosh happening when you take yr foot off the accelerator rather than pressing the clutch. I thought it was the clutch at first in my case No other negative signs on mine, at least as yet.

Pip: wouldn't that be an exhaust pipe at the bottom of the turbo?

No

Ok fair enough. I'll get my mate to check that cheers.
