auto dipping rear view mirror not working

Featured Replies

Hello folks

I have a 2011 superb estate 1.8 TSI DSG  elegance  and it has (or did have !) and auto dipping rear view mirror.

The last few day I've noticed getting dazzled a bit from behind and I seem to recall a little LED coming on occasionally on the bottom of the mirror which I presume was when it was dipped?

It doesn't come on now .

So I got the torch on my phone and pointed it at what I presume is the sensor (next to the LED) and nothing happens .

Is there any settings or switches that could have changed ? or any thing I could do or check before I take it to the garage??

 cheers

My Auto dim mirror (MKIII Oct Vrs ) has a button underneath the mirror, Turns it on, green light, turns it off, no green light. Is your the same ?

As Auric says above. I find it quite easy to turn it off when adjusting the rear view mirror without realising it.

sweet ........I'll go check .

I'd have looked like a like idiot if I'd have gone to the garage !!!!!!

Gotta love internet forums .......maybe I could have looked in the manual ........

thanks for the replys

You should have a button underneath the mirror, similar to this - this will alternate the auto dim function on (green) /off (no light)
