Front washer/ wipers not working

Featured Replies

Hi, I had the washer bottle warning light come on a few days ago so re filled the bottle and now the washer and wipers have become inactive, the rear wiper/ washer still works. Has anybody got any ideas about the cause.

My first instinct would be to check the fuses. It may have nothing to do with the washer fluid at all.

+1. Fuses would be my first check as well.

Just a bit of info, on other VAG cars the wipers become inactive when the bonnet is open to prevent damage by the wiper arms to the edge of the bonnet itself. As you have mentioned that you had just filled the washer bottle the bonnet must have been opened. I may be worth just opening the bonned again, apply some lubrication to the catch and close it firmly as if it is not fully engaged then the car my still think the bonnet is ajar and wont allow the wipers to work..... Worth a try .

If no joy with that it will be a check for fault codes deal.....
