Mk 4 recaros, straight fit or modding required?

Featured Replies

Was just wondering whether mk4 recaro seats are a straight fit into a mk1 fabia vrs or if modding is required? Thanks in advance

Mod req.

What modding needs doing? Drilled rails etc? N what about the rear?

its been done, the rails are completely different and cannot be drilled. You need to dismantle your existing seat base, the donor seat base and swap a lot of parts over to in effect get your Fabia rails onto the Golf seats.

Anyone know someone getting rid of a set of fabia leathers then?

Lol.

Good luck.

Rare and expensive.

There are forum members who can fabricate seats for you a lot cheaper than buying leathers.

How much roughly?

Depends what you want.

PM a member called 'Pulse' he does seats but he's not the only one.

I'm sure he can help you though.

Ideally I want leather seats, cos it's all I've had in all my cars

Why get someone else to do it (unless you are a total and utter technical luddite), just do it yourself, its not like changing a clutch or anything,

Its only removing a few bolts etc and just going about things methodogically not to break anything ( like taking anything apart ).

For the most part its not really much different from removing your seat covers for cleaning etc. Its a pain in the arse, with all the clips, yes, but difficult, no.

I didn't know where to start changing seats, till someone showed me. Have now done three changes.
