Hi,

When the temperature drops down to about freezing point or lower, the driver door won't unlock. I can hear the lock moving when used the remote, but I cannot open the door.

If I go in the passenger side the door is easily opened from the inside.

After the door has been opened it works perfectly until the next day.

Any good ideas?

The catch freezing slightly, spray some lubrication spray like plus gas on th the metal piece in door shut, and the black lock mechanism in door

If it's the door seals frozen to the car body then use this stuff.

Some uses for Gummi Pflege include:

a) Hard / Dryed out door rubber seals can create friction between the door glass & rubber. Use Gummi Pflege to keep the rubber supple and elastic thereby preventing the Window mechanism (the regulator) from wearing

Wind Deflectors fit in to the door window channel. Dryed and hard rubber seals make it difficult to fit wind deflectors. Use Gummi Pflege to treat the rubber before fitting to ensure a perfect snug fit.

I had the same problem regularly on my Passat and used this on the seals and never had the problem again, I've used it on my superb as well as prevention.

The outdoor handle moves. But it is easy to open the door from the inside, not like if it ís the rubber that is freezing to the door.
