Whats it Worth

Featured Replies

Hi everyone,

A friend has a Felicia 1600 GLXI (Black Magic colour) and is thinking of selling it (not trading it in). I was asked its value

but have no idea. I would appreciate any guidance you can provide.

Details are :-

2000 1600 GLXI (48,381 miles) Facelift model (round front fog lights)

Central locking (works on all doors)

Full service history (main dealer + myself)

Timing belt / Water pump changed approx 500 miles ago

Sun roof (does not leak)

12 months MOT (last week)  no advisories

Thanks

AFAIK Felly prices are pretty low at the moment.

They arent big sellers these sadly, shame really because they are actually very good cars.

price wise they vary, but ive seen them change hands for less than 300 quid, even really tidy ones dont fetch much..

alas as years pass they will no doubt fade away into obscurity just like the favorit did. Might even become a future classic. I was talking to a geezer in the skoda dealer the other day and I told him how mine will still be on the road long after the showroom octavia is in the scrapyard.

Hello,

I sold my Felicia for £750 last week ! It was 1999 1.3 Pacific with 33k on it and a clean MOT until November.

I was offered more but I had sold it by then. I used autotrader. Good luck with the sale

Cheers

Thanks everyone for your kind comments, you really confirmed what I suspected.

"Teflon Tom" what you said is oh so very true, its such a brilliant little car, a set of tyres would be worth as much as the market value of the car.

I visited a skoda main dealer recently and looked at some of the Octavia mk2 - 3 vrs's. I commented to the salesman "oh 2 exhaust pipes", he replied very

sheepishly "the offside one is a fake" !!!, sad or what.

"YetiJames" Thanks for you comments, we discussed its value and reliability etc and the car is going to be kept for now, but thanks again.

And as Tom says, they're disappearing fast. Just had a quick look on autotrader and there are only 12 for sale in the whole country. When I found my current one a couple of years ago there were usually about 25 at any one time, now it's around half that. I'll certainly be keeping mine going for as long as I possibly can.

By the way there's a nice red Bohemia on there at the mo. Very tempting.

I have mine because my grand parents gave me their old one because they didn't think it was worth sod all and they thought it'd be better off in my care as a roar rally car   :D  :x

  • 4 weeks later...

Hi all,

Fortunately in Portugal we still can see a lot of them, pre-face lift and after.

I had bought a 1998 1.3 GLXi ( Burgundy Red! :dull: ) last September (my kid first car).

I always like those "strange" looking beauties, and since my first car, bought by me, was 1990 Favorit 1.3 GLX, i take the chance and "closed" the circle with this Felicia with 61000 Kms, and a 500€ price tag. Since then i had spend a lot of weekend nights in the garage :notme: , and had spent some € in some needed things (exhaust line, battery, alternator diode plaque, etc).

But its a joy to see the kid and his friends enjoying the car. Now the kid its studying in Poland for a few more months and the poor Felicia its being neglected, having only a few hours in the weekend to spend with him  .

Next weekend project: use a dehumidifier to clean all the water in the isolation fabric (near the fuse box), disconnect battery, clean and spray all the nearby connectors, replace windscreen and rubber sealing, and hope that will solve the flickering headlights and airbag light! :envy:

All said, i like very much my difficult "Burgundy Monster", thanks for the Forum and for unconditional love for the Felicia! :sun:

The Felly

Hi Malka, looks good. Unusual colour, at least in England. Also notice it has GLXi spec (velour seats and front fog lights). These were only available with the 1.6 engine over here but you have them with the 1.3. Interesting to see different cars for different markets.

My first Skoda was a Felicia 1.3 estate and that had all the GLXi kit. I think it was a special for the centenary - in a champagne metallic. It had Skoda centenary badges on both front wings below the repeater light. Still got the front fogs and the seats on my present Felicia but the rest went to scrap sadly. I think I saw a few in that maroon metallic when I bought my next, maybe in some areas it's more popular than others?

I've never had colour matched mirrors like those though (unless you count my black car but that's cheating).
