My wife and I used the Octavia Mk2 version of this (Trip 1) to get journey times - especially useful for timing the sleep times for the youngest member of the family. In the Mk 3 the manual states the reset interval is 2 hrs, but in my car it seems to be more like 4+... Any other experiences out there of extended intervals for the Since Start function?

Hopefully not a dealer visit to resolve.

Yes I've noticed the same. Sometimes it resets and sometimes it doesn't. Haven't worked it out, or even tried to work it out as I don't use it much. I've left the car for what seemed like only an hour and it would reset but other times it would be sitting outside for half the day yet still not reset.

Interesting, I will call the dealer and see if they have a view.

I've noticed this on my brand new Skoda Octavia, 2016 model, as well.

 

Sometimes it resets during a few hours, for example it had reset during yesterdays short 6 hour friday workday.

But now, this morning, where the car has been standing still since yesterdays last trip... 15 hours ago... the "Since start" still has the info from yesterday.

 

I like this function very much, and it always worked perfectly on my 2003 Fabia.

 

Did anyone ever come up with a solution for this?

I'm not sure on the reset duration, but have noticed that the 'Since start' info is still shown a day or two after parking up when restarted.

However, this then immediately resets upon moving off.

Since Start will show the previous trips info until you set off again, then it will reset. mine always does.

He he, yes I just noticed it this morning. The data from the last trip is there, but is reset as soon as the car starts rolling.

 

Sometimes I need to worry less, and drive more :-)

My experience is that the "since start" time/distance is reset either after a set time of being parked or by the engine cooling down to a certain extent. Not sure which as they tend to happen together obviously.

I think the reset interval is around 2 hours. Certainly was on my Oct 2.

The information from the previous period always shows when you turn on the ignition and will reset, if the 2 hours have passed since the last start, when you start the engine.
