Featured Replies

Anyone done this to their vRS? Do main dealers still stock them or does anyone know of one for sale?!

Thanks in advance

be easier to ask who hasn't done it :D

AFAIK they're still available and there's often one on ebay.

Even I've done it and I drive a Popemobile!!

Just don't try to tow with it. :)

(Apologies to the long standing member who tried this - not really.... :D  )

I've been towed with mine but I made sure it was securely around the base, not halfway along - plus I wasn't being towed out a ditch :D

Me :p

I've never fitted one to any of my Fabias.

Just for info. :D

I had one on but then sold it along with all my goodies when I gave it to the wife. If you want some under bonnet bling get it but I didn't think it did a thing apart from make it hard to change the air filter :D

Not about having bling, hoping it'll help correct my tracking.. even if It does a tiny bit it's better than nothing :)

It won't.

I'm a bit confused now.

How can puting a metal bar between the turret tops help with your tracking, which is about adjustment on the hub/rack.

Tracking = track rod ends / Castor and Camber as you've said shoving a shiny bar between them does sod all for tracking, might as well make one out of wood for all it will help with tracking :D

When I was getting all my original bits fitted by Tech1e I bought pretty much everything that was available but Ross (Tech1e) told me not to bother about the upper strut brace, front or rear. Apparently the lower front ARB can be replaced with a thicker one which does help reduce understeer, but it's not a simple job.

As has been stated by others, the tracking (especially the very common pull to the left) will only be cured by alignment. There is an excellent thread about alignment;

And there is a guy on here who has a workshop in Leeds who does an excellent job of making Fabias steer straight all the time. I can't recall his name, but I'll have a search about and try and find him.

May not be useful for the OP but I'd love to know where this guy is!

Going to need someone local to sort out the Fabia alignment soon.

What about Bram Racing?

I took mine to Sowerby Bridge car clinic for the wheels aligning can't fault em car drives in a straight line now.

Also heard good things about Advancedflo exhausts in halifax re tracking but never used them. They did my mufflerectomy though.

Had the tracking done, need to get it done again now everything's bedded in. Basically some that went to overtake, didn't see me, nearly hit me head on so I had to chuck it over a kerb to avoid probable death (at about 45mph.. was previously doing 60) chassis ISNT twisted but I had the front left corner rebuilt (strut, bottom arm, arb etc) so I just want a bit of support up front and a bit more rigidity than standard.. hope I cleared that up haha

Because new suspension components do that, right?

Dude everythings mounted on rubber bushes, stuff doesn't 'bed in' unless you've kerbed it again.

Had all the bushes changed too..

If you had all the work done at once and the tracking adjusted last then it'll be fine, if you've been getting things changed in dribs and drabs then the tracking will need checking after the most recent change.
