Discount, already?

Well, I went to the local retail park to have a look at some cars today. First off the local dealer still hasnt got a Fabia 3 in their showroom.

But before that I went to have a look at the Polo. Well, that is one classy car. I was able to get a comfortable seating position with the steering wheel. Everything was solid and felt beautifully put together. Certainly "Soft touch plastics" I told the salesman that I wasnt interested in the PCP finance and he replied that you only got the £1000 deposit contribution on the PCP. However and I quote "We are in the business of selling cars and I am sure we could sort something out......." Or words to that effect.

Which maybe means if I was serious he could knock something off? Delivery times for a Bluemotion and all 5 door Polos is 6 months as they are built in South Africa. Unless your spec is in stock?

Then went to see the Hyundai I20. Slightly underwelhemed especially when I couldnt get the bonnet shut after looking at the little engine. But was comfortable, felt quality but not in Polo league.

Corsa. Saw a mate of mine who is a mechanic with the Vauxhall dealer and said a 17% discount is possible. The New Corsa was pretty good as well and felt quality. However I felt the clutch pedal was too high for me and the tailgate is not square enough for my liking. Nobody asked if i was okay in the Vauxhall garage. But I prefered the New Corsa over the I20.

At the moment, the New Fabia has got to be pretty amazing to pull me out of a possible Polo.

The mk3 fabia did feel abit better put together than my mk2, but I'm not sure itll be as good as the polo tbh.

Polos are nice little cars arent they.

Depending on budget and requirements, take a look at the A1 too? Thats a nice little car but doesnt have the space the polo and fabia has.

I would really like an A1 but my partner is adimant that we should have a 5 door and having struggled with lowering the back seats in the 3 door Polo today I would tend to agree! Unfortunately once I have specced up an A1 Sportback SE 1.6TDi with what I would like it is out of my budget that I am allowing myself. Although I would be likely to keep an A1 for years if I did get one!

One advantage  new Fabia has over the Polo is that it is a new shape car and will be current for a few years unlike the Polo that has been around a few years now so is likely for a major overhaul soon.

Incidentally I specced up a Corsa SRi VX-Line in a metallic and that is looking quite favourable as well but the depreciation is likely to be worse than the Polo although discounts are more likely.

Decisions descisions.

Have you had a look on 'drive the deal'? Might just help to save a few quid mate.

A1's arent cheap are they. Easily get up to £20k cant ya.

I havent been in the new corsa, but I've driven a 2010 one. The steering rack kept hitting my foot when it was on the clutch which was annoying (and shouldnt even be here IMO) and the seats were like sitting on concrete. I wasnt a fan, but the new one might be better (:
