bonnet lifters

Featured Replies

Know this seems to have been asked a few times but cant find a definitive answer what is the best way to fit lifters to the octavias bonnet.

1 mk3 golf with bent ball

2 mk3 golf with bent lifter

3 fabia rear

4 heard someone mention mk4 golf ??

dunno which is the best and easiest option or if there are any others that i havent seen

Mine are Mk3 Golf with bent ends.

Mk4 Golf had an extra bracket on the inner wing to attach to.

I bought one off here when a chap did a bulk buy from skoda - think it was £30 including delivery and is now fitted and works a treat

Yeah 2nd post down mk4 has a bracket fitted to take it guess it's welded from factory or something

All ready knew mk3 needed fettling to fit but the venom ones are gonna be direct fit looks like the winner to me as made specificly for it so no faffing about so cheers guys for helping again ive got the info I needed to make it not look bodged now

let me know how the venom ones fit and i will purchase

Those venom ones look very good.

I fancied lifters but when I did a search on the forums before there were some people saying that they could deform the wings, as they're not designed to take the weight,. That put me off so I can't verify it, but might be something to consider

I very much doubt it will deform the wing as the kit will be bolted to the upper chassis rail that the wing bolts to, nothing will be bolted to the wing itself.

Is that how those venom ones fit?  No need for drilling?  Hmmmmm really are twisting my arm now

Haven't received them yet but I would imagine so looking at it, its just a case of removing a bolt from the hinge and replacing with a ball fitting and the same on one of the wing fixing bolts, as it says in the description "fits to inner wing". Can't wait for it to arrive now so I can take some pictures of it fitted to show. :D :p

If all looks as hoped I'll tell SWMBO it's your fault I had to buy a set.

Just had a call from Venom and the kits are on backorder for about 5 weeks, so will have to wait a little longer sorry. :swear: :( :wait:

Wow, that's a long 5 weeks

Have they said why it's taking so long?

Finally after waiting 8 months for them to turn up went to fit them and needed to bend the end that goes into the bonnet. I was not going to be beaten lol. I've waited to long for them. a541b9c942564f37b7403fa3ec2535d2.jpg
