Fabia Reverse Parking Sensors

Featured Replies

The missus' car, the warning beep is no longer intermittent, it's one continuous beep.

Wondering whether anyone has come across the problem, before paying Skoda £50 to plug it into diagnostics.

It will be one of the sensors that is faulty as it is 'seeing' all the time. Either that or it is corroded or dirty - take a look and make sure they are all clean on the face.

Thanks. Are they easy to get at? Bumper off job?

My Mk2 did the same this morning in the frost

Easy to check each one with VCDS

Try blowing air from airline or similar over sensors in case of water or debris ingress, then as stated above. Worked for me, think I may have applied excess wax though.

I'll try giving them a clean first, before resorting to my tapometer, before replacing :)

Yeah, they could just be "Seeing" frost or dirt!

Mines done this once.

I was just about to ring the dealers, but then it corrected itself and didnt do it again. Fingers crossed, it still hasnt.

I've no idea why. Must of been a sensors time of the month.

As it's your Missus' car then there is a strong chance that its a damaged sensor from her reversing the car into something  :D

Mine did this for ages and recently I had another sensor replaced. I have had two sensors replaced now over the course of ownership (2 1/2 years), on my Fabia which is 7 years old.

They tend to complain when wet mostly, though even on a dry day if its doing this often it is probably a duff sensors. VCDS will tell you what is happening.

Indeed! She's insured on my new Octavia, unfortunately

Whilst on this subject (sort of) is there anyway to calibrate the reversing sensors??? The ones on my Mrs fabi are very sensitive to the point of giving a constant tone with still to feet or more to go  ???

They should give a constant beep at 1 foot

Cant be sure about calibration though. Dont think you can but im not sure

I just had my rear parking sensors looked at yesterday and there is an open circuit on my far right sensor. It doesn't look damaged, but apparently I need to replace it for the rest of the sensors to work.

Can anyone recommend where I can buy a quality (but cheap) sensor? Will I always have to paint the sensor silver to match the others?
