Water pump warranty?

Featured Replies

I had a leaking water pump replaced under warranty on my Fabia about 6 months ago by a Skoda Main Dealer.

The car is now out of warranty and the pump has started leaking once more.

Should the warranty on the replaced pump be 12 months or a shorter period than that?

To get my facts right I thought I'd ask on here before approaching the Dealer.

Any help appreciated.

I have a feeling that anything replaced under warranty is only guaranteed until the warranty expires or 12 months, whichever happens first.

As above the Warranty work is just covered as long as the car is under the Original Warranty.

But since 6 Months and failure if it is the part is really a Supplied Part not fit for purpose possibly,

talk to Skoda UK Customer Services,

because they need to talk to the Parts Supplier, or the Dealership Parts Supplier.

You say about 6 months,

was it July / Aug 2014?

?

What Fabia, Age , Engine?

Thanks for the quick replies.

It's a Fabia SE TDi CR 90 Estate (2011) 1598cc and the pump was replaced on 5th June 2014.

How many miles on the car in June, and how many since?

& sorry for my bad manners,  Welcome to the Forum.

Welcome to Briskoda from me too. Are you the first owner of the car?

The car had gone in for its 30,000 mile service in June and it now has 38,300 miles on the clock.

I've had the car from new.

Thank you for the welcome.

I would be looking for Goodwill from Skoda UK.

Before talking to the dealership, maybe call Skoda UK Customer Services and ask for a Call back from a Customer Services Manager,

John Good, Tom Chadwick, Dan Wilson or the likes should do OK.

They are Launching the all New Fabias this week,

Nothing like good Customer Services to assure potential new Owners of how Skoda might treat them.

After all they do not want Customers in Showrooms next weekend complaining with loud voices.

I'll have a chat with Mr 'Goodwill' and hope he's had a good weekend.

They have sent me a “Come to our Showroom and spend a lot of money on a New Car” card last week so I might pop in and have a chat tomorrow.

Thanks for the advice – I'll let you know how I get on.
