IP Camera's

Thinking of a couple of IP camera's....principally for monitoring a house while away from it, but also when in it.

Low light ideal, IP based to transmit, either to ftp or over web (have 6 ip's at home to work with etc )

Any recomendations on good but not costing the earth cameras?

example ebay one: http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/NETWORK-IP-CAMERA-CCTV-SERVER-CAM-VIDEO-MOTION-D_W0QQitemZ8702680228QQcategoryZ4616QQrdZ1QQcmdZViewItem

But I'm aware that all that ebays's is not cheap.

You need to talk to Ivan. ;)

Panasonic BL-C30 wireless...has a motion detector....remotely accessible via internet if you have ddns account.

Uses cmos tecnology so pic quality isn't as good as it could be but....it's cheaper than the ccd versions, which have excellent pic quality plus zoom and audio. Price though is roughly double the cmos counter parts.

I'm also looking into something like this to allow relatives to see our baby ... does anyone have any real-world sample shots to show the quality of the feed? :D

Chris

Thats a bit drastic for a baby monitor Chris ;) Babysitting via the web..... whatever next.

Found one of them for 210 inc.

Put it this way, we've had visitors in the night at the target location, I'm over 30 mins away at best, so looking for a email / sms prompt so I can call folk.

Due to the nature of the target location, I reckon 2 or 3 will be required to offer a good coverage...now where's Ivan's number.

Colin, it sounds like you're planning a military operation.

Over and out ;)

K750i...no opera, but maybe it works... ;)

Military?

Well funny you say that, it would be quite good to have a few thunderflashes in the field next to the sheds triggered on motion then get a nice snap shot of the oikes faces, or is that feces.

Lets just say IR beam triggers would not be impossible for the folks to setup, I reckon he'd actually enjoy it.

Actually I'm going to suggest this aswell, fun if nothing else testing.

colin it works on an s700 so will work on 750 ivan was showing me on sunday :)

Excellent...

and worringly it's 100 thunderflashes for 4.50ea, should be enough for a 5 acre site....:rofl:

As long as it has an Internet browser it'll work ok...if WAP gateway, it won't.

Can't you just mine the back garden and be done with it? :D

We use a couple of Axis 2100 ip cams for security at our offices, and they work pretty well. Spec Here

Apparently, they're the ones that the BBC use for webcam piccies.
