vRS Estate - Must have options ?

Featured Replies

I don think the vRS needs alot of additional spec TBH; all the basics are there.

From experience of living with my (standard spec) Elegance for about a year I would definitely consider the following on a vRS.

Electric seats - not so much for the electric memory adjustment but for the 4 way electric lumbar supports. The standard rocker lever affair is bloody awful (IMHO) and I think the lack of decent lumbar support is contributing to my bad back...though this is probably less of an issue in a vRS.

Heated seats - again not because I am a particular fan of seat heating but they work wonders for a bad back. Be mandatory with leather seats for sure.

Leather - would have to choose this on a vRS with electric seat option (you actually have no choice whatsoever) but whilst the leather isnt great in a Skoda at least its wipe clean and thats a huge benefit if you have kids.

Folding dimming mirrors - again you have to have these with the electric seats but I wouldnt be without folding mirrors now; I also wish mine dimmed (the standard elegance mirrrors dont dim and it wasnt an option when I bought mine).

Canton - the standard sounds arent v good; they dont sound bad but just are nit v talented. If I had another Octavia this would be my one mandatory option.

Bluetooth+ - having used the bluetooth in mine alot and experienced v frequent call break ups i often wish I had ticked this box.

Nav I have to say i would not be that bothered about. Amundsen and Columbus are nice and capable enough but not worth the spend...particularly when a decent portable can be had for sub 200 quid and arguably works better.

I have one question about options, if you'll forgive me for hijacking your thread.

How is the electric passanger seat, does it get the same adjustments as the drivers seat?

Same adjustments, just no memory.

Thanks.

Got a demo car booked for next weekend, Friday to Tuesday and will be doing around 600 miles plus, so will get a real feel for it. :D

I'm a newbie and will be collecting my vRS early next week. Do I take it that the foglights are factory fitted as corner following but you need them enabled, or am I misreading things. If it can be done, how?

Find someone with VCDS to enable cornering fogs for you.

On a vRS, no - corner fogs are not standard.  They are on Elegance + L&K though, I think.

Do you need cornering fogs? My vRS headlights bend round corner anyway ?

At slow speeds they don't bend, the fogs kick in when the adaptive headlights stop.

Ah I see, never had a problem with the lights at low speed but guess until you've had it, you don't miss it. Although i hate seeing other cars with cornering fogs on, always think they have a bulb out - just gets to my OCD

I hate the cornering lights on our Šuperb , I get a heart attack thinking a bike is coming up my inside when I'm turning left
