Window tints

Featured Replies

Hi guys,

Considering window tints this weekend. I was hoping for some opinions please...

I don't want limo, also would like something on the front so it does not look weird...!

Cheers

Brendan

I've got light smoke on the front sides, medium smoke on the rear sides, dark smoke on the small little windows on the rear sides and limo on the boot, blends in nicely rather then having pitch black tints at the back and nothing at the front

Thanks Harry, that sounds really good !!

Any pics ??

Cheers

Not the best picture but you get the idea, mite get away with dark smoke on the back instead of limo on a dark coloured car

Yeah mate that's really nice...!

Think I'm gonna do that !!

Might go 1 shade lighter, as you say it's a black car so may get away with it !!

Cheers mate, you really helped !!!

totally illegal on the front 3 points and £100 fine dark smoke all 3 rear windows

It's not "totally" illegal to tint the front side windows, only if they let less than 70% of light through after the tints

Ok buddy, thanks for the advice..!

Not wanting points or fine, so dark smoke sounds like a plan !!

I'm with you on this one

One quote I read stated "....tint on most factory supplied vehicle glass is just below 30%" ... "anything other than a clear security film is likely to result in failing a roadside test if performed by the Police".

The implication is that applying any tint to the front windows will result in failing a Police check. Whether any tint is strong enough to attract that attention in the first place is another question.

i know this sounds daft, but does it matter which side they do the test on? (i've not got any tints, just wondering how the equipment works, ie two way mirror kind of thinking...)
