Jaguar XE Here in May.

Featured Replies

There is a whole thread on the XE somewhere but yes it looks a very capable vehicle.

I'd be very keen to see the estate version and how it stacks up against the Superb. Mine is to be replaced later this year.

Glad I cancelled my Autocar subscription, everything just turns up here anyway :)

I do want a Jaaaag.

Pretty car but I think I'd really want an XJ or XF.

XE might be a little...little.

How well will it compete with the new 3 series and others, now and future makes and models known.

I wondered why I had five unread copies of AutoExpress still in the wrappers at home.

Think I'd better cancel that too.

I think Kieth should have his own thread, would save me time.

And "Ingenium" as an engine range just sounds a bit silly.

Like Unobtainium.

Aim to please and not annoy, like some I could mention!(Keith)

XE, well for me it looks a little Audi ish but apart from that a lovely car, would have one in the blink of an eye but then I am biased about Jags

Social media is such a money saver. Even the traditional print journalism has offered magazines online. Reading or opening threads In a General Chat section of a forum seems like free choice, seems odd that some are always putting the threads down. One stop Briskoda is so easy.

At least they are using 2.0 litre Ford Ecoboost engines for their two "starter" models, at least until they can make their own!

Probably too small inside for us, but worth a peek.l

Any relationship with the latest Mondeo?

Wasn't Jaguars last equivalent model the X-Type based on a Mondeo platform?

I was travelling with one on the M5 yesterday, It was lovely

I saw one today, it had an Ad Blue filling point in the boot, the interior makes the 3 series BMW one look rather bland.

The Ingenium engines are starting to come through now, they are in the LR Discovery Sport.

YEs the X Type was based on the Mondeo chassis -truly awful it was. Dad had one and very quickly chopped it in for an S Type.

My local dealer keep emailing me offering a test drive - I may take them up on the offer.

I thought that the petrol Ingenium motors were at least a year away?

As for the X-Type, it used a cut down Mondeo Estate platform, (to enable AWD, easy with the multilink rear suspension on the Mondy Estate, but not possible

with the rear struts on the Mondy Saloon / Notchback.

SWMBO & I have both had Mondy Estates, 7 of them over the years & we think that they were great fun to throw around, (when empty....) & really good load-luggers, better than the

Superb, but I have to agree, every time I've driven an X-Type I've driven away in a Mondeo wondering why I've been wasting my time!

Hopefully the XE will be more inspiring, otherwise we'll probably end-up in a Superb 3........

(2.0TSi of course.)
