20" wheels on a Mk2 Octavia

Featured Replies

Has anyone ever tried it?

I know Lloyd did it on a Mk1

i'd say they will fit. The mk2 had 18's as standard with a lot of arch gap. Weather it would look any good or not is another matter

OCWD? ;)  :giggle:

OCWD? ;):giggle:

WTF does that mean? :)

I think your biggest problem would be tyres Bryan.

You'd have to drop to a 30 profile surely otherwise they're going to be vastly different rolling radiuses (radii?)

225/30/20 rubber bands, Sam, yes, and they are limited in that size

This is what happens when you're off sick :(

Think I've seen some Bentley wheels on one ?

Bentleys are often 19s

Posting this youtube link blind, apologies if it's not what is should be!

Looks right to me!  B)

Would go upto 19s, maybe - if I particularly wanted them for show and not ride/cornering/dynamics reasons :)

For 20, I suppose it would first depend on the wheel width and offset. If you get them around the same width, I've seen 225/30/20s available. Not that popular though, for obvious reasons:

ET 45 and 8.5J, Steve, so right fitment

I agree ride may be quite harsh :)

yep, stamsaas's old car, 20" cantonas iirc.

lovel the look, but i don't think i'd be able to live with the ride or i'd be in a permanent panic that i was going to whack them on a pothole.

What tyre width would you look to run on 8.5J - 235 section? Just think you might run into full-lock issues.

Reckon it would work on 235/30/20 but possibly only in a straight line :D

Think redders or radders had 20's on his wrapped mk2

I'm pretty sure people have hadno fouling issues with 235/35/19s, so 235/30/20 should be little different

All probably pie in the sky anyway, Steve, we'll see what price they get up to
