New shape Skyline

Featured Replies

Just been looking at this site at a new shape skyline they have available -

I cant say as i'm very impressed to be honest, cycle through all the pics till you get to the interior shots, looks like most of the buttons/switches were just thrown at the dashboard, particularly the wing mirror switch being under the steering wheel?

I also cant see why they are calling it a skyline as it looks just like the 350z to me, so I cant see the point in it existing.

It seems they are just trying to cash in on the Skyline name as it doesn't have the famous RB26DETT engine, just a V6 - no turbo. never gonna be as tunable as the old engine!!

I know they've been around for a little while now I just hadn't seen one in any detail till now. very dissapointed :(

That looks like a pile of old mans pants!

Give me the old one any day (please! :D )

It's an import Nissan 350Z i think - more goddies on it. But i think there will be a GT-R V spec version at some point

Thing is though, they sell both in japan - skyline and 350z? cant see the point really.

And yeah I guess a GT-R V-spec would make it more interesting! I was just dissapointed with the engine and interior, the fact that the drivers seat has that wierd leather hump in the middle where your testicles should be!!!!

:rofl::rofl::rofl::rofl: Obviously a womans car :D

The new skyline is an utter disgrace in comparison to the previous models.

tosh utter tosh the above phrase 'cash in on skyline name' is a right

I cant seee any faster car than 0-60 in 5.6, 155mph for 19,850. It'll sell like the preverbial 'hot cake'

Saw this a while ago - yes, looks just like a 350Z. But - allegedly - it's a better engine to tune (but I could be wrong).

Oh, and Newara Imports look to be the "expensive" end of Jap imports, i.e you get what you pay for. There are a lot of cheaper new Skylines around, e.g. car-ex japan for starters.

Guys...

This car came out quite a few years ago, originally as the Infinity G35 Coupe (that's what it is here)..Nissan use the same car and call it the Skyline. Same engine as the 350z, same power figures.

Looks like it`s been designed for the american market.

I saw one the other weekend in B&Q carpark just saw it from the rear and noticed it had "skyline" on the rear????? Looked alright from what i could see but that was only the a!se end.

One day i will have a gtr skyline r34, one day...

thats a Infinity exec touring coupe lol skyline haha looks awful they cant use two names for the car wheels are sooo small and no no no :finger: lol :P

The 350Z's known as the Fairlady Z outside of Europe isn't it? Certainly for the Japanese market, not sure about N.America.

And yeah, not a great effort by Nissan to be honest. I really liked the look of the last Skyline, and really like the 350Z. Shame....

Fairlady Z in the States. 350z everywhere else. The 350z is actually alot older than you think, I saw the first one here over five years ago before it was officially launched. Some Sheikh read about it and specially-ordered one for himself here so long ago, it was the only one in the country for over 2 years.

I'm going to go against the grain and say I actually quite like it! I think it looks like a car from an Anime cartoon, which makes its styling pretty cooll in my eyes (I feel exactly the same way about the Toyota Celica).

OK, so it's not the balls-out supercar that the GTRs were, but AFAIK, the Skyline is also a fairly bog-standard saloon model in Japan, with the GTRs being a souped-up coupe version (think M3 vs 3-series). According to Wikipedia:

"It was said that this vehicle was not originally intended to be a Skyline, but with the impending discontinuation of the R34 series, Japanese dealers demanded a vehicle bearing the Skyline nameplate and it was affixed to the production version of the Nissan XVL concept.

"Nissan has also left a turbo version out of the lineup. Nissan's series of turbo RB engines has developed a cult-like following with many bolt-on upgrades from Japanese race part suppliers like HKS and APEXi. Time will tell if the new generation Skyline and its engines do as well."

...which may go some way to explaining things!

Having driven a 350Z a couple of times on the track I think its a seriously under rated car, the handling for a stock car is just so sweet as is the Engine note. You can get a stonking s/hand UK spec 350Z for that Money, Twin Turbos about

i think you will find that this is the new shaped Skyline for 2007 of whats it wil look like:D
