West Midlands Police reduce crime using alternative methods

Featured Replies

Not recording it !

Some oxygen thief young lady decided she was going the wrong way in lane one (Left turn only)  and decided to cut across me into lane 2 as I was exiting the roundabout

I saw said idiot and took avoiding action but contact was made

Chased said moron into a car park as she made good her escape but got caught in a set of lights (she jumped) with traffic

As i pulled up she was running into sainsburys I called her, she ignored and was gone poof!!

Photo'd reg and damage with my paint on an already hanging off front bumper

Upon reporting to the police I explained I believe I can polish the damage to mine out but just letting you know (failing to stop etc)

"phone your insurance"

Do you want the registration ??

"no thank you"

Your word against hers.

Can you PROVE with independent witnesses a crime was committed?

no

Time to invest in a dash cam.

Or a hit man ?

Sainsburys CCTV of said woman dashing in to supermarket?

Probably trivial to go too far with it to be honest.

If the police won't help I'd be tempted to hammer facebook with photos of the car.  It's funny how sometimes when posted in the larger local community groups, culprits are often recognised by friends/family. :)

Next time it happens and you speak to the Police just mention you could smell alcohol on her breath.

I probably wouldn't go to the cop shop to give them footage of me chasing some old dear into a supermarket :)

I had this a few years ago. Someone backed into my car in an otherwise completely empty asda superstore car park and drove off.

I didn't see it happen, but three other people did and were all happy to give a statement. I phoned the police, and was told to bring my documents into the station in the morning.

Strangely, the other car got smashed up on the owners drive a week later. No idea how.

Yeah think id have went home for the balaclava and paint stripper for her car.

Or id have waited for her to come back out of the shop

Either way id probably of ended up incarcerated doing 20 to 10 in the pen

That wont get you anywhere either.

I was subject to a hit and run, left in the middle of the road (i was ridin a motorbike. Or was)

Police caught driver later that night. ****faced.

Bang to rights really.

Got pretty much bugger all for it

The incident described does not constitute a "Crime" recorded by the Police under Home Office Counting Rules. Hence the force are not guilty of the matter alleged......'reducing crime (by) using alternative methods'.

The quality of service offered by the Police however is another matter!

I'm guessing at least a ban though...

Nope.

8 points and about £100 fine.

Seen him about since driving all sorts.

Small price to pay for leaving a motorcyclist in the middle of the road and driving off really isnt it. I could of been dead for all he new.

Luckily, somehow, i heard his wheels spin, looked up and got the first part of his reg as he was driving off. And because im sad enough to be able to name most cars on the road without thinking, i had no doubt it was a ford ranger, the higher 4x4 version haha.

The police were waiting at his house.

Wow, involved in an accident, driving under the influence and leaving the scene of an accident and no ban?

Either a good lawyer, bad judge, dodgy evidence or extremely lucky!

Exactly.

Disgusted in it myself tbh.

He obv sucked somebody off didnt he

Not really any lack of evidence.

CCTV up until the crash, CCTV of him making off (unfortunately missed the accident itself), 3 witnesses who were walking at the time, one taxi driver (which gave chase, but his passat 1.9pd wasnt quick enough, so he didnt see which way he went ;)) and a big dint in his back wing where i smashed into it.

His plead was 'i never knew i hit anybody'

When he clearly did. He stopped for a second? then wheelspun off redlining his pickup.

Ouch, the main thing is that you are still here to tell the story.

Assuming the lad was local and you knew where he lived I'd find it very hard to not seek out my own justice!

But, best let sleeping dogs lie and all that!

Dont worry, i know who he is and im bidding my time (:

Till i see him driving late at night near christmas (sometimes theres a campaign thing on isnt there, where they pay you for reporting drink drivers) I'll be picking up the phone and following him. ;).

Its only a small town really. My time will come (:
