What suspension are you running?

Featured Replies

Looking to buy a suspension kit for my vrs..

I'm wanting it lowered up to 30mm but don't want the ride to feel rock solid. I want a bit of compliance.

What sort of set ups are you guys running and any recommendations? Pictures would be great

I'm using Weitec Hicon gt's and i'm most very satisfied with them but most people will recommend Ap's on here.

Without trying to sound like a complete doućhe on here, there have been endless threads on this topic lately...  Use the search function in the top right hand corner and you'll get loads of answers!

There are all sorts of options out there to you, but I'd recommend an AP shock and spring kit for what you're looking for. Cheap too! :)

Why change the habit of a lifetime? :)

For compliant 30mm ride why not just fit eibach pro-kit lowering springs? :)

Not a Fabia I know but Eibach's and Bilsteins work really well, especialy with front and rear ARB's.

I will be ordering a H&R Cup kit this week and fitting later in the month so will let you know the review afterwards - was going to go coilovers but I do too much mileage so have opted for the 30/35mm H&R kit ~£500

Koni str.t kit i had on my old fabia and loves it. Its only cheap as well.IMAG0454.jpg

Well I've decided I just want to run lowering springs.. Eibach pro springs have caught my eye and I've seen them for £180.. So I guess I have a budget of around 180

Might as well go for a spring and shock kit. I have the AP kit on my vrs which at £250ish is only 70 smackers more than those springs and IMHO they are very good value for money.

Why stick some lowering springs on probably already worn standard dampers? Have only done this once on a car before and then replaced the dampers when I started bouncing down the road!

Trust me mate get shocks too! I tried to cost cut on my octy by just gettin springs and in the long run it cost me more because i realised how worn my shocks actually were and then i had to fork out twice the labour costs to then have the shocks fitted. Plus you will get so much more benifit and joy of driving havin both

How many miles have your current shocks got on them?

I fitted just a set of eibach springs to my mk1 Focus years ago and that wasn't at all bouncy with the standard, old dampers. better, more controlled ride then standard.

the Ibiza has h&r monotube coilovers and isn't bouncy but it is pretty damn firm :-/

Lowered 15 screw threads down on the front.

All way down at the back.

KW Variant 1's.

How's the ride with this set up? Quite liking the look of this kit

Eibach springs work very well with a RARB. Depends how old the shocks are though.

It was fine mate. Handling was amazing. It was firmer but thats to be expected. Its down 30mm i think it was which to me was perfect. My splitter would catch on hihg curbs so any lower would have been a problem. Think the full kit cost me about £350. This is it next to my mates with standard suspention. IMAG0356.jpg
