Xenon lights ? whats the difference between halogen & xenon

Featured Replies

That sounds good. Did you place an order? If you do then fire a link up and a review, I will probably go for the same but not brave enough to be guinea-pig lol

Not yet mate, I'll be returning the £70 london colour kit first haha.

I will do as soon as i sort it out (:

Others on here already have 50w kits. Im sure. Heard of no problems yet

Wouldn't bother with halogen bulbs now, get HID's and you won't regret it

Agreed.

Do you have 35w or 55w mate?

Got the 50w londoncolour kit in the post today.

After reading the instructions i think im happy with the quality, but a reply e-mail off them would be nice to confirm.

The ballast is very big compared to the hids direct ones. Its not a slim ballast in the slightest.

Also not sure if the wires are long enough for where Id like to mount them, but I'll have to wait till weekend (unless i get an early finish from work, which is extremely doubtful) to find out i guess.

Wish i got paid for tinkering with my own stuff haha.

If you not looking for a HID upgrade what do people recommend for an upgrade with more of a white light but not blue?

Halogen wise, osram nightbreakers or philips extreme vision are your best bet.

Youll never get a good white light out of a halogen, theyre always abit yellow.

Avoid bulbs with a blue tint to them. These filter the light output and actually make them less bright to the eye

Thanks for that fabiamk2se

Agreed.

I've got a 35w kit 4300k from HID's direct

4300k is pure white, I've got them and not a hint of blue

An update, just for Jonro really haha.

Fitted the 50w hid kit from London colour tonight.

Tbh. There isnt much difference IMO. Theyre both 5000k but seem whiter than the 35w's, which i like.

But other than that, its abit brighter but not a massive amount

Not £60 worth of an upgrade tbh, unless your current kit is starting to bugger up and its out of warranty

The hids direct kits might be abit brighter. I dont know

Thanks for that. I might swerve it for now, until I need new bulbs then change the whole lot.

For the money I would want more.

Is the quality of kit any different to HID Direct?

Yeah defo not worth it unless you need it mate

The quality is very good, yeah. Ceramic around the burner with a metal base too, like the hids direct ones.

I messaged London colour n asked about the quality of the kits, they claim to use the same supplier that supplies many car companies. Theyre all UV safe, and tested to quite a few different temp tests n what not

Id still probably buy from hids direct if i was going to again

I've never tried HID Direct think I will give them a go next time after all the good reviews.
