Need help asap with Turbo Hoses!

Featured Replies

So my car is booked in for a remap for the 14th of february. And recently my hoses have started popping of because they're getting worn.

Ideally I would like to replace all hoses with silicone ones ?

Does anyone sell an entire kit for intercooler hoses for a SMIC. I have a BLt engine

I think it's forge that do, got quite poor ratings here recently and cost about £200 iirc.

Any companies sell the kit besides fordge themselves ?

I think I worked out what you needed to DIY it , posted On here somewhere un-tested though and priced up around 140-160 all in

Yes forge do one and if you shop around 204 is the cheapest i found.

The ends are solid and fit tight with new seals from tps.

the pipe is thick and pretty good but has to be clamped to the ends as its not built in like the oem ones which if not done right will pop off. Specially as the bends are not perfect

the pipes are not 100% at the right angle so the pipes need to be slightly bent more to fit so are tight and in places hard to get in. Where the oem stuff all fits perfect and lines up spot on this kit doesnt. You need to align the heads too so they fit in the pipesthen clamp them.

personally i think forge could of done all that specially for the money. The kit should come ready to fit all clamped or better still built in ends like stock pipes. Hey ho

Now its on my car its not bad. Never had pipes pop off tho but think i had a slight leak as the fittings were not tight on oem pipes unlike these.

To be honest I think you would be better off building a kit up yourself out of silicon bends and metal pipework, that way you will replace all the bayonet connections with silicon and clamps. It's more work but it will probably be slightly cheaper and you'll be glad of it in the long run

Don't think you can do that with standard cooler?

Going to need the bayonet connections to go into cooler?

Yeh you can buy the bayonet adapters on eBay, so you will still have 3 but it's better than having however many is standard. Or alternatively if you're never going to take them apart you could glue some of the bayonet clips in. I used msi mega bond on a couple of mine but I knew I wouldnt need to get them apart, I wouldn't recommend doing this on the turbo though

Don't seal the pipes in, previous owner did it to mine, right pain in the arsenal if you need to take off. Ie rocker cover or I think you do for timing belt too?

Google or search on here Fabia diy top boost hoses has links for couplers and pipes etc.

I agree with not sealing them all I only did two of the bottom ones but made sure there was another slightly further along however it was only a temporary solution till I got my front mount and new pipework, it did work though. Depends which joints are leaking
