Hey everyone, I'm looking at a 1.9 SDi on Wednesday and I'm just wondering what kind of stuff I should look out for?

Lots of things I guess the wet carpets in the rear from the usual leaking rear doors, fan speed resistor, steering rack etc.

 

There's a few, I'm sure someone will pop up with a more definitive list.

All of the usual car bits.... View it in daylight and in the dry, check panel gaps and paint finish, tyres etc. ensure no warning lamps on the dash during the test drive.

Look out for milk floats trying to overtake, resistant rice pudding skins, old ladies flashing you in the rearview mirror and hogging the inside lane on the motorway.

But then ignore all the above because you'll still go further than they will

Rocker gasket oil leaks along with Vacuum Pump oil leaks on the top right hand end of the engine, as your looking with the bonnet open.
