Skoda were no help at all with getting the car down to Aberdeen. My choice to buy a car and take it off the mainland was what they said. I asked them if they would recommend that I buy a Ford, Peugeot or Vauxhall next time as we have local dealers for them!

I took it to Specialist Cars in Aberdeen. Dropped it off on the Sunday afternoon. I phoned them on the Monday night and they had identified that the instrument cluster needed to be replaced. Part was fitted and car finished by the Friday lunchtime so I collected it on the Saturday.

Overall, very happy with Specialist Cars. The only downside is that they need to pay an extra wage and get someone to answer the phones! The service number rings and rings and eventually gets picked up by a salesman, who then tries to transfer you, takes a number and promises someone will call you back, but this doesn't happen.

Ferry fares cost me a total of £170, but I guess we'll have to live with that. What did make me laugh was that the day after I got back with the car, there was a letter from Skoda trying to sell meeextended warranty!!
