In my Mk1 Octavia I had a Golf Mk4 sunglasses holder that replaced the grab handle above the drivers door. Does anyone know if there's something similar that will work in a Mk3, or indeed if the old Golf one has the same spacing?

Sunglasses holder is in the centre roof panel by interior light if you haven't got one as std you should be able to retrofit like I've done with our fabia Monte Carlo

I like a Glasses case above the drivers door,

where there is not one already fitted, it is easy to get ones at the type of breakers yard that lets you go get stuff from cars.

 

But a Plastic Glasses case from the 99 pence / £1 shop or one you already have and good Velcro works pretty well for £2.50 IME,  choice of colours and textures of case available.

The controls for the sunroof are in place of where the holder normally goes.

Ahh didn't know that it might be worth having a lol for a mk 1 octy or fabia one as I can't see the mounting points for the grab handle being different

I'll just take mine off and measure the spacing of the screw holes and see if it looks promising.

All the Mk4 Golf based cars had the same spacing, but other VWs like the Passat didn't, so the Octavia may or may not be the same

No, not measured it yet, but will do soon.
I'll need someone with a Mk1 Octavia to measure the spacing on their screw holes as well.

Hello, I tried to put the old golf sunglasses in the o3 but golf iv have not same fixation in the o3 isn't with screws

I have been looking for this also, Focus and some Volvos had this as standard, I called Volvo and they say the distance of the mounting screws is 17cm, so very close to grab handles on my Octavia 3.
