20k Service

Featured Replies

The furby had the 20k service this morning and all seems well with the exception of a possible puncture on one of the tyres. Rear tyres still have 7mm left while the fronts have 5 - they're all originals. I've been told to keep an eye on the pressures on the one with the possible puncture and seek repair if it proves to be punctured. They had a look but couldn't find any puncture but the pressure was well down especially compared to the other tyres. It has been a few weeks since I checked them :o .

When I got back to the car (which was clean inside and out  ) I looked at the passenger seat to check the service book had been stamped and noticed it was not alone on the seat - there was a small beany type bear with a Skoda Auto banner around it. It's from one of the Skoda gift brouchures I think. There was also an A4 piece of paper thanking me for my custom.

Now here's the question: do you think that's a good idea or another way to bump up the servicing costs? My mum liked the idea and thinks I should keep it in the car but I'm not so sure.

As a point of information the menu stated the service would cost around

I think its a good idea. Just a little something to say thankyou. But they should only do it to people whom they know are regulars, would be nice. :)

Sounds good to me, price is about right anyhow.

What is the problem. I got lost after the bit where you hadn't checked your tyres for a while. Did they steal you mum's cuddly toy from your car or something? Sue I say. He he.

Here's an image of the bear and the sheet of A4.

EDIT: Took a few goes but I got there!!!

That's nice. Your mum got her bear back. Seriously though it's a nice touch but i'd like to have seen the bear in vRS colours.

I'm a tight-fisted and I'd rather just pay for the necessary service rather than having to pay for this sort of extra as well however cheap it is for the dealer to purchase.

It might just be the new homeowner in me wanting to keep costs down where possible!!!

Your'e so so cynical. Let the guy enjoy his Skoda bear will you.

Enjoy it - seems like you are a hard customer to please - bet if the service was free you would have complained it was too cheep - just be grateful inthe world we live in and trust people when they are genually trying to please - why not ask if you could have

Pretty much what I was thinking

Maybe a poke in the eye with a sharp stick would be better.
