I'm considering purchasing a TDF Superb 4x4 but am unsure about the ground clearance..? I'm guessing that it's not elevated in the same way as the Octavia Scout?  Which encourages me to believe that it also lacks the belly plate and under body protection also..?

 

I would like to hear what other TDF Superb owners think of their cars...mpg / power etc.

 

(I've owned an Octavia Scout and a 170bhp 4x4 saloon Superb previously)

 

The lack of tinted glass is slightly off putting (for security reasons, and also for offering my dog some small degree of solar protection) have any owners applied tinted film and how does this work with a heated rear window?

 

Finally, is there a suitable/satisfactory dog guard available other than the Skoda product?

Are you looking at face lift models or the original? I love my original and it has dark rear tinting, sunset glass, as standard. If you want the 170PS with a manual box like I did it has to be the nicer original design.

My TDF has privacy tinted rear windows. Not sure if that is as standard since it was ex-demo so they may have spec'd it up. I'm not certain the ride is any higher than normal although front and rear bumpers have a 'metallic-looking' under strip. To me it misses the point if you want to take this sort of thing too far off road. I wanted the 4x4 to help me drag a large boat up and down slipways. Plenty of power for me, although it won't push you too far back in your seat and the ride is very sponge-like after years of owning sharp-handling Mondeos.

That having been said, loving my TDF Superb. Brilliant car.

Ignore my previous post. TDF and Outdoor are virtually identical. Loads of TDF on Autotrader and all have dark tint rear windows. I usually have a mountain bike in the back of mine and you can't see it. The suspension is the same as any other and no extra underbody protection.

You definetly want to tint the Windows, I don't have a outdoor or TDF, mine is L&K, so it came with tinted windows, but they were way too bright
