Parrot CK3100 with Columbus

Featured Replies

Hi All, I have read quite a bit of conflicting information online and was hoping someone with experience can clarify for me.

I have just bought a 2010 VRS (yay!) and need to put my trusty old Parrot in for work reasons, and pretty sharpish! I have read some threads on here and done some extensive googling but nothing I find online seems to agree with each other. So can anyone point me in the direction of the correct ISO/SOT lead I will need to use? Also, is this going to be plug and play like it was in my old Focus, or will I need to run some sort of feed from the battery/fuse box to power the thing?

Any help appreciated, as I would really prefer to do this myself, so when I come to sell the car I know how to take the thing out again!

Cheers

I assume the Bluetooth kit has the standard ISO connector on it?

If so then this is the kind of thing you need:

I used one like this to fit my iO play kit before I got the OEM Bluetooth fitted.

You will need a switched live from the fuse box.

Thanks for the info.

Do you know if there is an empty switched fuse slot that can be used? Or does it need to be piggybacked?

There are free ones yes. If you have a multimeter it's easier to find one.

I personally used a piggyback fuse holder to tap into one of the existing switch live circuits.

Another question, is a radio code needed once the Columbus has been reconnected? I can't see any note of it in any of my documentation.

The car will (or should) remember the unit and reconnect automatically when you put it all back together.

Just for info of anyone reading this, I did need a code for the radio when all plugged back in. However the next couple of times it was removed/replaced it didn't need a code  :|

Got it all fitted ok though, hardest part was fitting all the parrot cables in the dash. Luckily there is a nice space behind the climate control  ;)

Sometimes it needs time to re-sync with the stereo. The code is always stored in the dashboard clocks but doesn't always work straight away but should eventually.
