Chrome cleaner

Featured Replies

Can someone recommend a decent one? Washed the car today and noticed the chrome grill is badly marked despite giving it a good clean.

Autosol metal polish is a good all-rounder and cheap enough...

or

Britemax Metal Twins to polish and then seal

Autosol is a personal favourite.

But isnt the grill chrome just coated plastic?

A normal polish would do wouldnt it?

This, it's only plastic trim most likely

Don't use chrome cleaner you'll rip the shiny plastic off. Have a look round for some of the hardcore detailing guys, they'll be able to advise you on the best product to use.

I understand. Guess I should have said fake chrome cleaner.....

I've PM'd ChrisR regarding this.

Hopefully he'll be along to recommend you a product soon

He knows his stuff (:

Thanks..it will only need a light polish...something like AGSRP will be fine

Harsh metal cleaners as already recommended are to be avoided on chrome covered plastics IMO

Hope this helps

Good luck

Hey chris - what does 'monkey puzzle' mean?

What is AGRSP?

Damned iPhones. I meant AGSRP of course

You will just need to rub a little on and buff off...it's got mild abrasives, perfect for plastic chrome and a little sealer

Very versatile polish but I personally don't really use it much these days.

Thought I'd recommend a light polish thats readily available at Halfords

Good luck
