Just bought Superb 4x4 170bhp Estate

Featured Replies

Hi,

I used to own a Octavia 4x4 elegance (1.8T petrol) & liked it till it blew up.

Was looking for a bigger car - as now have 2 dogs so ended up wih this in Met Silver & lots of toys & a manual 2010 version.

Wading through the controls - damm the maps or firmware has never been upgraded.... & looks as if I need to buy a new bluetooth module too..

But the car is tight as a drum & runs Superb.... :D

It feels much more solid than the Octavia & not as nippy, but pulls like a train...

I have the twin door 4x4 Elegance, when I got it the I had the same problem with the sat nav being out of date, still on the 5 digit postcode, rang Leicester Skoda about undating it which would have been about £100, but they told me they do it for free when servicing, as their servicing prices weren't much different to a VAG specialist I use it was a bit of a no brainer, now I have all my servicing done by Leicester Skoda mostly to keep the SatNav up to date, well the latest update they have on their workshop disc's.

I'll ck with my local skoda - although the car was serviced when I bought it so that may mean a while to wait..  I find it crazy that this isn't done across the board as it just gives owners a reason to complain about their vehicle...

Ordered window blinds for it from Palm Automotive yesterday -they are due to arrive today ! - great comms & very quick to post.

Had these on my Honda Accord Tourer & they really help keeping the temps cooler in summer (have 2 dogs)..

Now to find:

Rubber boot mat

Ross-Tech Vag-Com cable

Bluetooth module.

You might find the split rear screen sun blinds don't butt up against each other down the middle.  In which case just contact them and they send you some additional clips to hold them together.

You should have bought your blinds from superskoda Kopacek import, the rear visor comes in one piece, also lots of cheaper parts than the dealers.

Price for rear doors, rear quarter lights and single rear screen 89.99 euros about £75.00.

Hi  folks recently bought a Skoda superb elegance estate and called in Johnson skoda in Erdington,I asked the sevice dept wether they included a sat-nav update in with any service booked with them, but I was told that the update would cost £180 was not impressed.

Could bryanp give the address details for the skoda dealer in Leicester (who included sat nav update in with service) as I live about 30 miles from Leicester so it would be worth my while on my next service.

Hi Vanman, It's Sandicliffe Skoda, 414-416 Groby Road, Leicester, LE3 9QB. 0116 233 9222

Make sure you ask for it to be done as it's something they don't shout about!

I used to have a 1.8 t 4 x4 estate , I was lucky to get 26 mpg out of it, it had no power under 3 k but went really well above that it reminded me of my old 2 stroke motorcrsser with its power band. I use to do a 220 mile run years ago to near standsted from south wales so when we had snow I decided to take it instead of the diesel , I filled it up when I left , filled it up at the destination as it was gasping , had to put a tenner in at bristol as I though it was about to conk out  ( there was no snow as it turned out) . You could almost see the fuel gauge going down even at 65 mph

I've now got a 140 4 x 4 tour de france and I'm getting 47 mpg which is great and you don't have to drive it like you've stolen it :-)

The 140 could do with a bit more power I think , it's not as fast as the 2 wd and is a bit more low geared so it does 2 k at 70 rather than 1.8 k revs like the 2 wd

I assume this is on the computer? This is about 10% optimistic.

Do I rely on speedometer , or shall I use GPS for distance?
