Featured Replies

Sorry double post (note to self don't press button twice!!)

Hi Guys

Anyone got real life photo's, plenty of Skoda professional ones online, however, much more intersted in real life pictures.

Also if you have the demin blue how do you like the colour?

Trying to decide between demin blue or metallic grey.

Cheers

You should really go see them live. The denim blue seems to split opinions, most grays look pretty good to me, but they're really common as well. The gunmetal gray does stand out a bit as a classier alternative, and the steel gray really turns heads (and I'm sure splits opinions as well).

Hi I have a denim blue Fabia love the colour

My Octavia is the first car I own from new. All my previous cars have been used cars and chosen more on their condition than on their color. So when I ordered my Octavia it was the first time ever that I had many colors to chosed from.

I quickly found black, white and the grays to be too common and conservative. I wanted to have a car with a real color, and since I plan on keeping my car for a long time, resale value wasn't an issue.

My previous car was closest to Race Blue, and I wanted something new to that, so Race Blue was out. I find Corrida Red to be too flashy for a big car, so that was also out. Pacific Blue would have been nice if it had been a Metallic color. At the time when I ordered my car that left me with Denim Blue, Lava Blue, Cappucino Beige or Topaz Brown.

Cappucino Beige can look quite classy, but I also find it a bit too conservative my taste. I have for a long time found some brown cars to be very nice. Audi and BMW have had nice brown colors in recent years, but a little darker than Topaz Brown. While still a nice color it wasn't love at first sight. Lava blue was difficult for me to judge. I couldn't find any photos of a Lava blue Octavia. On the Fabia II I think it looks a bit odd, but on the Superb I think it look good. And then there was the Denim Blue. I couldn't see a car at the dealer in that color, but there were plenty images on the internet and I instantly thought it looked very nice. My only gripe with it was that it looked a bit 'cold' in its tone.

So my choice was basically between the Lava Blue and the Denim Blue. I think what settled it for me was that I also wanted the Ivory interior with wood trims, that I expected would add the 'warmt' I wanted. The uncertainty about the Lava Blue and the combined look of Denim Blue / light interior made Denim Blue to be my choice.

Now I have had my car for 13 months and I still like the Denim Blue color a lot. It doesn't exactly turn heads, but sometimes when driving around I often notice moments where there are only black, white or some hue of gray cars in sight, and when that happens I feel very happy about my choice.
