Diary of a Courtesy Car .

Featured Replies

Aygo 1.0. Now that was fun! Simple little car with a lovely raspy 3 cylinder engine note. Was the mother in laws. She once drove to Germany to see her parents and basically maxed it out for mile upon mile on the autobahn (not very fast obviously!)

But still all not very exciting.

I'm with you on that one.  I had an Aygo as a hire car for a couple of days and it was brilliant fun.  No matter how hard I tried, I couldn't get the mpg to drop below 50 and it soaked up the abuse with ease.  I'd have one as a run about quite happily.

Got my superb mk2 2009 4x4 in the garage for bumper replacement and got a courtesy car...64 plate insignia ecoflex..

Good on fuel.

Looks good from the outside.

Getting into it was like closing myself in a narrow plastic box. After 2 days driving around, gpt a severe back pain, tried to adjusy the lumbar and the seat, still horrible :( SRI pack but basic I think, has satnav but very poor, my v3 maps on skoda are more fast and accurate, my opinion, yes in the vauxhall shows the speed cameras but doesn't allert, the entire menu of the unit is very limited, a few bugs with it aswell (im a tehnology nerd sometimes). Overall, I wouldn't buy one of these, despite the consumption and the power of the engine (very sporty), a heavy car on the road, full of cheap materials and no comfort at all ;)

I had a lift in an Insignia a while back.

Impressed with all the kit. Sat-nav, dual zone climate, auto lights, auto wipers, cornering xenons etc etc.

But the comfort was terrible! It was so cramped I couldn't believe it for such a big car. I'm 6'7" and I was so squashed in even with the seat right down and almost all the way back.

So what was the car that can do no wrong in for? :P (If its bodywork or upgrades I retract the previous statement and will eat my hat if I ever decide to take up wearing one).

Retraction accepted :)  Can I choose the hat?  :D

Little scuff on the sill due to a water logged road concealing a boulder and my reaction time not what it used to be.   :(

Good as new :)

Nope I'm afraid its already decided...
