RNS315 or RNS510 Functionality without coding

Featured Replies

The DSP settings in the menu indicate that the RNS-510 is coded for an external amplifier. You need to alter the coding to switch it to standard speakers, it should be dead easy to sort and the long coding helper is where you should be looking. Just switch the setting from Sound System/DSP etc. using VCDS.

When set to DSP / the speaker level outputs are switched to line output, so you get no audio.

.....breaking news....

We have sound - yay!!!

With all thanks going to member Neil_f who met up with me today and weaved some VCDS magic.

The problem and the solution was as summarised in various posts above. The RNS510 had been coded for a car fitted with a Skoda sound system with DSP, and also with active speakers. Changed these settings to no sound system, and front and rear speaker channels. Save new code and reboot the RNS510 using the 3 front buttons. Switch on and glorious sound ....well Radio 2 came out the speakers.

Very happy! Now just to get a dog guard fitted.

Great news, Im tempted to change my swing to amundson but so far they seem very costly but i like the idea of inbuilt sat nav.
