Split pipe identification help?

Hi guys,

I got a EML on the dash, I haven't read the codes but a nose around reveals a split pipe on the right of the engine.

Can you tell me what the pipe is and would the split cause an EML and what effect it would have power wise?

The previous owner did point out a duct-tape repair on the top of the pipe but the major split is at a junction lower down. How difficult is it to change?

It's part of the oil breather system, & yes split pipework can cause a fault codes.

As said, part of the breather system. Smple enough to change.

I think your main problem is that you have part of a hand trapped in there.
