My Skoda dealer tells me that my new car is being built in the Czech Republic but I've read different things. Is my dealer right or is production now in India and/or China?

All cars destined for the EU are built in the Czech republic. Some VAG group cars are made elsewhere, but all Skoda models are built in CZ.

The hatchback is definitely being built in the main Skoda factory at Mlada Boleslav (Czech Republic) as per the below press release.

Not sure about the Estate version but presumably they roll off the same production line.

Only Skoda not built by Skoda for the European market in the Czech Republic is the CityGo, that's built by VW in Slovakia.

 

Fabia is built alongside the Rapid family and the Octavia at the main Malda Boleslav plant.
