Skoda fabia lowering springs

Featured Replies

Hey guys was gonna buy coilies for my skoda but didn't see the point since it's just the front that's strut so any advice on this? Best to go for lowering springs? (If so how low could I get it without it rubbing ect?) or is it better to buy coilies?

Thanks in advance

Kieran

You cant get low enough to rub on springs only

The springs that give you the biggest drop are probably apex ones. My mate runs them on his fabia vrs and they look pretty good (perfect height imo)

If you want boy racer lows your best going for coilovers

I don't want it slammed I've got a mk2 golf slammed (120mm) and it's just a nightmare. Just want the car lowered 50 or 80mm

Thanks for reply mate

50 or 80mm??

Then you need coilovers, the lowest springs only drop the vrs 25mm or non vrs 40mm.

You'll see the springs for sale offer 40mm lower etc this is what you get on a non vrs fabia as they are 15mm higher than the vrs as standard

40mm springs on a vrs -15mm is 25mm lower

40mm springs non vrs is 40mm lower.

So both end up at same height

I dont even know if you can lower a fabia 80mm, 50mm will still look low

I lowered mine yesterday, hit a pothole and snapped a spring right in half. Got half the ride height now ;)

Lol and yeah you get lowering springs that go that low mate http://m.ebay.co.uk/itm/361143746085?nav=SEARCH

A quality spring I'm sure.

What Jase probably meant was: You can't get springs that low from a known brand that you should fit on your car.

Though as a libertarian I will just add: your car, your money, your spine, your life. Go forth and do what the **** you like.

:P

Yeah I know but I'm asking what's the best to go for lol I'm not fuzz about how much they cost mate

50mm lowering springs from ebay on standard 10 year old non vrs shock absorbers will guarantee you a fail at your next mot for 4 leaking shock absorbers

In your case i would say you'd be better off with coilovers

you can go cheap and cheerfull fk ak coilovers at circa £195 but they will be rubbish and kill your back

Or if you want a decent cheap setup look for AP coilovers, little bit more quality

I recently bought some Eibach Pro springs from DPM performance.. Lowered it by 25mm which doesn't sound like much but it's enough.. Better road handling without compromising the ride too much.

Am I the only one who doesn't mind my fk ak coilovers :hide:

Money no object then get a Koni or Bilstein coilover kit, cost compromise solution is the AP kit.

Fuzzed, lol.

That's what I've got as well and again maybe not much but definitely better handling and they don't break you back either they are quite comfortable.

Ignore 'supple soon'. Don't have a clue where that came from or how it squeezed in there haha

Not by anyone on here, you came here for good advice, when it comes to Fabias the best advice you'll find anywhere is here.

All you have to do is listen and pay attention. Ok.
