Dint In Rim?

Featured Replies

Hi all,

Got a tyre fitted a couple weeks back and the garage informed me there was a very slight dint on the inside edge of my rim which is making the air leak. Just wondering if anybody knows someone in the Preston area that would be able to repair this as cheap as poss?

Thanks, Jonezy

Depending on the wheel type, a replacement wheel may be cheaper than trying to repair it.

I thought that mate, there bbs rx226 literally can't find another rim anywere :(

Won't be cheap to repair either will it?

Surprised they didn't but a bead of rubber there to try and stop the leak.

Had it done on a rim of mine by a tyre fitter before.

Suppose it does depend on how bad it is....

He did put the rubber glue stuff there, quite a lot of it but hasn't sorted it :(

It isn't that bad really, you wouldn't know it was there if the tyre wasn't loosing air. Right pain in the back side

My company sorts buckles and cracks for about £20.

It's then up to you what you want done with it, we can smart repair using a spray booth the size of a wheel and spray paint or powder coat the full thing.

Or you can spray paint it with a rattle can yourself.

I've edited my previous post.

It's in Newcastle, yeah, the lads can sort anything out really, they could weld up two half 40/60 alloys both buckled made to look like a new wheel.

Watched them put in a different Y spoke from a mini alloy that has been smashed off.

It really is an art!

Shame its so far away :( need something more local really :(

Was to give you an idea more than anything. Expect £30 to repair bucked or cracked alloys.
