ABS / ASR 40 AMP BATTERY HARD FUSE BLOWN

Featured Replies

Hi all

I have the usual asr and abs eml's lit up, battery 40amp fuse blown tried changing 3 times it blows these within a minute of re-starting (I also have no batt light and have re run two alternator wires from alt direct to the loom under battery tray thus bypassing the troublesome connectors where wires snap and still no light on dash so issue either on alt or further up loom) but what is causing the 40 amp fuse to continuously blow?

To blow a 40 amp fuse there must be a dead short in the wiring, are you positive the DIY wiring is correctly connected.

Check the connector(s) on the ABS unit for moisture ingress?

Mine was blowing too. Now my mate has rigged up an enclosed 50 amp fused bit of wiring and all seems good. My connection to abs module was clear so whilst actual cause never diagnosed, it is working fine with new fuse setup. Makes me wonder if fuse box at fault somehow.
